Potassium hexafluoroaluminate is an important inorganic fluoride salt with specialized applications in several industrial fields. In aluminum alloy processing, it is used as a flux and refining agent, effectively removing hydrogen gas and oxide inclusions from molten aluminum, thereby improving alloy purity and mechanical properties. In the grinding wheel and abrasive tools industry, it serves as a filler and active additive, enhancing the wear resistance and cutting efficiency of resin-bonded grinding wheels. In brazing applications, it acts as a flux for aluminum and aluminum alloys, effectively removing oxide films and promoting solder flow and wetting. Additionally, it has minor applications in ceramics, glass, and fire-resistant materials.
