In natural gas and refinery gas purification, it serves as a selective acid gas removal agent, efficiently absorbing hydrogen sulfide while minimizing co-absorption of carbon dioxide, thereby reducing energy consumption. In the coatings and polyurethane industries, it acts as a neutralizing agent and catalyst, used for pH adjustment in water-based coatings and for rigid foam production. Additionally, it is used as an intermediate in textile and pharmaceutical synthesis, as well as in flue gas desulfurization and as a rust inhibitor additive in metalworking fluids.
