Product Usage

Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) is an important inorganic chemical auxiliary. In the detergent industry, it is a highly effective water softener and builder, chelating calcium and magnesium ions in water to prevent soap scum deposition, thereby significantly improving the detergency of laundry powders and dishwashing liquids. In the food industry, it is used as a moisture retention agent and quality improver, widely applied in meat, seafood, and dairy processing to enhance water-holding capacity, improve texture, and prevent fat oxidation. Additionally, it is used in the ceramic industry for slurry deflocculation, and in textile and paper industries as a dispersant and anti-settling agent. Its advantages include strong chelating ability and good synergies, but it should be noted that phosphorus-containing wastewater may contribute to eutrophication of water bodies.
