Borax pentahydrate is an important inorganic chemical raw material with a wide range of applications. In the manufacturing of fiberglass and optical glass, it serves as a flux, lowering melting temperatures and improving the heat resistance of the products. In ceramic glazes, it enhances surface gloss and hardness. In agriculture, it is a key micronutrient boron fertilizer used to correct boron deficiency in crops. Additionally, it is used in metalworking as a solid lubricant and antifreeze agent, in cosmetics as a water softener, and as a basic raw material for the production of other boron compounds.
