Natamycin

Natamycin, also known as Pimaricin, with CAS No. 7681-93-8 and chemical formula C₃₃H₄₇NO₁₃, is a white or pale yellow crystalline powder, a natural polyene antifungal agent produced by Streptomyces natalensis. Its core applications cover food preservation, medical treatment and agriculture. In the food industry, it inhibits the growth of molds and yeasts in cheese, meat products and pastries, prevents mycotoxin production without affecting food flavor and beneficial bacteria. In medical field, 5% ophthalmic suspension treats fungal blepharitis, conjunctivitis and keratitis. It is also used for crop mildew prevention. High in safety, it is hardly absorbed by human digestive tract, certified by food safety authorities worldwide, and is a natural and efficient functional raw material.
