4-Dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP for short), with CAS No. 1122-58-3, chemical formula C₇H₁₀N₂ and molecular weight 122.17, appears as white to pale yellow crystalline powder, easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone, and is an efficient organic catalyst.
