Antimony triacetate, with CAS No. 6923-52-0, chemical formula C₆H₉O₆Sb and molecular weight 298.89, appears as white or off-white crystalline powder. It is easily soluble in solvents such as ethylene glycol and toluene, and decomposes easily when exposed to moisture, making it an important inorganic catalytic material. Its core application is in the polyester industry as an efficient polycondensation catalyst, widely used in the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Compared with traditional catalysts, it has higher activity, which can shorten polycondensation time, improve product quality, and is not easy to block production pipelines. In addition, it can be used as an organic synthesis catalyst for transesterification, condensation reactions, etc.; as a reagent in the field of analytical chemistry for the detection and quantification of specific metal ions; and also used in synthetic fiber production and flame retardant material research and development, making it an indispensable special chemical raw material in industrial production.
